Gratefulness, Expectancy, and Trepidation
I always greet each new year with a sense of gratefulness, expectancy and trepidation! Whatever happened last year – even if it was painful, may be better than the cards I’m dealt in 2011. And I consider myself an optimist! Since I subscribe to St. Augustine’s admonition, “Pray as if everything depended on God, and act as if everything depended on you”; I’d say it’s time to get the year in gear.
Families Change, Finances Change, Laws Change…Your Will or Trust Must Change as Well
Families change (as you may have discovered over the holidays!), finances change and the law is relentless. The Wall Street Journal noted recently that state legislatures passed almost 31,000 new laws last year – and the Texas Legislature didn’t even meet – WOW! So, maybe this is the year to act on creating a new estate plan, not just pray you don’t die. Don’t let boneheaded procastination wreak havoc on an otherwise perfectly good year.
